Assam Agricultural University (AAU), a state agricultural university established on April 1, 1969, is located in Jorhat, Assam. Recognized by UGC and ICAR and accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC, AAU offers a wide spectrum of programmes across agriculture, veterinary science, fisheries, horticulture, home/community science, sericulture, and agribusiness (MBA). It holds the unique distinction of being the only institution globally to provide a 4‑year B.Sc. degree with a specialization in Tea Husbandry & Technology. With multiple constituent colleges, research stations, and extension centres across Assam, it serves the entire state.

Admission Process
1. Application
- Applications are submitted online via the official AAU portal.
- An Information Bulletin is released and applicants register, fill the application, and pay the fee (typically Rs 750–1,200).
2. Eligibility & Selection
- UG (non-Veterinary): 10+2 in science; selection based on Class XII marks through AAU CET (or ICAR AIEEA for out-of-state candidates).
- B.V.Sc & A.H.: Requires Physics, Chemistry, Biology at 10+2; selection via AAU CET VET.
- PG: Essential UG degree in corresponding field; admission is based on ICAR AIEEA PG or AAU’s own tests like GAT‐B, followed by counselling.
- Ph.D.: Requires a relevant master’s degree; selection via ICAR AICE JRF/SRF or PG merit.
3. Counselling & Documents
- Successful candidates are invited for counselling and seat allocation at AAU Jorhat.
- Documents to submit: academic mark sheets, domicile certificate (for Assam residents), entrance exam scores, ID proof, migration certificate, medical fitness certificate.
- Reserved category quotas (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and state domicile regulations apply.
